My lovely mum died there on shevington ward on September 25th 2015 and all I can say is thank you so very much to all the staff on the ward who were there not only for mum but also for me ...especially to ELAINE who was on shift on the morning my mum died, she stayed close by and talked me through what to expect in my mum's final hours and was there to give me a cuddle and reassuring words when the death occurred, you all allowed mum to have her own private room and let me stay over, I know mum appreciated all you did for her and I especially did, it just made those hard last days bearable and for that I will be forever grateful x

I have twice had the pleasure of visiting the PIU department as a patient. From the gentleman at the desk in reception, to the ladies in the cafe I was treated with friendliness and help. When I went into PIU the staff were welcoming, friendly and explained my treatment as it went along. The staff were happy, kind and totally efficient.

We had to go to A&E with my mother in law who had just had lung surgery but was having some pain breathing we arrived at A&E and were saw by an array of wonderful people we would especially like to say thank you to Dr Ivan who was fantastic he was very friendly immediately put my mum in law and us at ease he was funny and made us laugh he explained everything that they were doing or going to do did I mention he was funny all turned out good and we were able to come home a big big thank you to everyone from reception to the wonderful Dr Ivan The Bennett family

I was sent here from Leigh Infirmary to have further investigations carried out. The staff in the Ambulatory section were first rate - despite having a whole array of tests done, I was never kept waiting between any two events for more than 20 minutes. The nurses were very kind, reassuring, and went out of their way to keep me comfortable during my visit.

The new NHS website below is very well worth a look. Hospitals are not only listed but evaluated. I certainly know which ones I would go to! At the very least you will know what questions to ask if you are sent to one which has not entered its data. Good luck!
